Monthly Archives: April 2018

Hi friends! I’m thankful Stevie keeps everyone up to date through the blog. Isn’t he grand?! Just wanted to send my own personal thanks for so many prayers!

I had the chance to take a personal 24 hour retreat this weekend with about 15 other worker women in this country. It was amazing. God encouraged me, spoke to me, reminded me to stand firm, prompted me on in deeper prayer for others, and urged me to continue to practice his presence in each moment.

Here’s a few pictures I snapped of the beautiful place we stayed! It’s an old monestary only about 45 minutes from our house.

Would you please pray Ephesians 6:10-19 over us. “That whenever I open my mouth, words may be given to me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.”

More of Him and less of us! Amen

Nchallah by next week

For those who have ever worked among Arabs to any capacity, you have probably heard the expression nchallah multiple times.

It means “if God wills.” Just like we would say “Lord willing.” In most cases it has one of three meanings. It can mean, “yes”, “no” or “maybe” in the context of trying to get an answer from someone. If you are asking if someone can do something for you and you get a “nchallah” in response, you mostly have to know the person and the context to understand what to expect from the person.

That cultural lesson was free.

In any case, “nchallah” we will know by the end of this coming week if our two big customers from our prayers this last week decide yes. Thank you for your prayers and keep πŸ™πŸ½!

Here are the faces of appreciation for all your love and prayers:

Update on OWT prayer request.

Thank you for praying for Old World Timber. It truly means a lot and we know God cares.

As for an update regarding the Menard’s meeting, here is what my brother texted me yesterday:

Just Talked to them-

He said it went as well as he could have ever hoped. He feels great about it. They will notify the winner next Friday.

They thought the price was good and they loved the packaging and the display as well as the

So, like with many deals, we continue to wait. Next Friday we will know if this huge opportunity falls in our favor.

Tomorrow, Thursday, at 10:30am we have another presentation in our own facility with another big possible customer.

We appreciate all the prayers.

In the mean time you gotta CLICK HERE to see what else we’ve been working on. Make sure to read all the way to the bottom!!

Huge prayer need.

Greetings all. Evidently winter blues aren’t going away for most in NAmerica, but in NAfrica we have reached our absolutely favorite weather of the year. It’s been good for our souls.

Regarding the Newsletter, let me go back and see what happened. A handful of ppl are telling us they never received it πŸ€”πŸ€¨. Let me check on thatπŸ‘βœŠ.

We have always tried to be transparent with you, even at the risk of sometimes sharing things that are quite risky to us (in life or business).

Perhaps this puts us in a vulnerable place, but we don’t choose to do it any other way.

As a quick update, Old World Timber has had some really good months. We have actually had some of our best months this first quarter of the year. However, one good quarter does not a business make or break.

That being said, we still need divine help to assist our long and hard work hours. We subscribe to the theology of business that this company is the Lords and we need Him and His grace as much as we need a clear business plan, a healthy team and a strong work ethic.

This week we are looking to close 2-3 huge deals that could once again help transform the future trajectory of OWT and its local and global impact.

One such deal is with Menards (a Home Depot of sorts). We have been working on a proposal for Manards for a few months and the final answer comes this week. We aren’t saying we should be favored above others because we are believers, however we do ask for you to pray for the Lords favor upon us none-the-less.

We are working extremely hard. We are withstanding tons of obstacles to succeed in a competitive industry. At the same time we refuse to go about it without the Lord’s guidance, wisdom and favor. It’s such a hard balance. We are convinced the Lord is creator and caretaker of both the sacred and secular. He desires us to blend these two worlds in a way that honors Him. It isn’t easy. And we can’t do it alone.

Our prayer is that Menards and these two other deals would work in our favor. But not our will, but His will be done.

Will you prayπŸ™πŸ½πŸ™πŸ½?

The meetings happen at the of this week.

You have prayed so many other times and for that we are thankful. Yet once again we are in need of your supernatural prayers.

For Him and for His glory!

Check your junk.

What we are wanting to communicate is that we just sent out our latest newsletter.

In our test email it went to our “promotions” section of gmail. Just an FYI. It might be in your junk email.

Getting a newsletter out leaves us feeling like this guy at Old World Timber after he made his production quota:

Love you guys. We’d love feedback on the newsletter as always.

He has risen. Two weeks after Easter and it’s still true!!
