Yet another sign of His favor…

Lots of posts today because today I’m finding the time 😜😘

Many of you are keenly aware of the difficulty of finding a good schooling option for kids in a place such a this. But the Father’s favor has certainly demonstrated itself strong in the forming of this school. It’s where Jenny teaches and our kids both attend. It is one of the greatest answers to prayers in our lives. Such a wonderful wonderful place.

Yesterday was the first day back to school. Year #4 for this school startup. And just look at these pics to judge for yourself how beautiful of a learning environment. I can count at least 8 or 9 nationalities, but I think there are more!

One more huge answered prayer ✔️

Blood will be spilt this night.

Well, actually blood will be spilt in the morning. Tomorrow is the big Aid (holiday) for remembering Abraham’s sacrifice.

In the States if you have a truck then you are constantly called upon to help a buddy move.

Here, if you have a truck then you are constantly called to transport the sacrifice:

Please say a prayer for all those here still making religious sacrifices. We know the payment has been made. Most people here don’t know this.

And if you want a one off devotional reread Genesis 16 and 21 and be reminded that the Father does have a blessing and plan for the lineage of Ishmael.

God sees. God hears. And it is being made evident here. Amen.

Just had one of the best weeks ever!

We try our best to balance this blog with everyday life. Some seasons we are more serious than others.  Sometimes we probably sound whinny or pathetic.  Sometimes you probably think to yourself, “what are they even doing over there… weirdos.” We get it. You are right in all those thoughts.

Some weeks are plain ugly and messy. This was not one of those weeks.

We just asked for prayers for Friday’s huge meeting. We’ve been asking for prayer for the people we are following up with… Well, the Lord answered in unusually great ways.

Thursday morning for my first fup meeting I got to meet with the Aymen I just wrote about a couple days ago. He had texted me Sunday night asking for me to give him more scripture to read before we meet again. So we meet Thursday and he unfolds before me that what has actually happened over the last couple weeks is he has become convince of God’s Word and he is now a believer and is curious about the subject regarding getting dunked. PTL. He is a believer!

Then later that afternoon I get to be apart of the début home group of our super close local friends. Thursday was the first smalll group in their home and they just got married a month ago. The nearly two hours was a “slam dunk” you could say. Super encouraging.

Then after the meeting I get two texts. One from my brother telling me a meeting they had just had with a potential huge customer went really well. The customer is ready to buy a lot every month. PTL. The second text was from another guy I have told you guys about. I’ve met with him for about 2.5 months. I haven’t seen him for about 3 weeks however.  But in his short text he tells me, “I want to tell you something… I want to become a believer.” PTL.

Then Friday, here’s the report on that OWT meeting. My brother tells me they nailed it. A nationwide store wants and is ready to buy our wood. In particular they know they want our olive wood. PTL.

Listen friends. I’m sorry. Listen family. We are all apart of this together. Each and every struggle you help us carry. And each and every success you must see yourself apart of. We share all this together as we worship ONE LORD!

This was a great week for OWT and for the kingdom. PTL. PTL. PTL.

At 11am EST today we have a huge meeting with a big time customer that could really make things bust loose. If this customer gets excited then it would do huge things for our international work.

Thanks for your prayers!!

Latest encouraging stories.

The evidence that many of you are praying and praising our Lord comes in the form of lives that are being changed here…

Here are three of the most recent encouraging stories coming from our follow-up of seekers.

1- Zachariah: this guys is my age. He has a job as a radiologist. He is super honest with the fact that he is curious but not convinced that He is “THE way, THE, truth and THE life.” We have now met, I believe, only 3 times. The first was to deliver him a book and to chat some. The second time to read a great deal straight from the book. Of which he texted me a few days later to tell me he believes both religions are basically the same and he believes in both prophets. Then I met him last week and we had our most encouraging time reading and discovering together. He was engaged and tracking with everything. Then just this morning I received a text from him asking me some clarifying questions of things he is reading on his own in the Word and to tell me he found some extra time today to watch the “Jsus Film.”

I rarely get these guys to contact me. But he contacted me and asked me stuff and tells me this. This is a huge turn and very encouraging.

2- Wally: this guy is also my age. Has a wife, a young daughter and one on the way. He is kind of a self employed pharmaceutical sales guy. So we hit it off great the first time. He thinks like an independent entrepreneur. He is responsive. He works hard and reads a lot on his own. I was able to give him his first Book in Arabic in his life.
Then just last week I met him for only the second time. He said he had wanted to start from the beginning so had already read most all of Genesis and more. He sees both religions being mostly the same, but in a curious way, not a close minded way. We had a hard conversation about who the Son really is. We ended with laughter and in good spirits. Then since my car ended up getting towed, he drove me to find and recover it. So we ended on a mutual problem solving commonality. He said he is eager to keep meeting. I really enjoy meeting with this guy.

3- Aymen: this guy is just a few years younger than me. Seems to be a hard worker. Into philosophy some. The first two times he met me he wanted to meet in a bar. We really stayed pretty generic these first two meetings, so I didn’t know how serious to take him.

Then over the last two weeks our meetings have gone straight to the heart and truth. He has confessed to being a drunk which has cost him his marriage. He tells me he has decided to quit drinking. He also has recently lost his job which has humbled him. The third meeting I told him he needs to read Matt 5-7. Last week we met for the fourth time for him to tell me the following:

He said, “Stefan, up to this point you have done a lot of talking. Now it’s my turn.” He said, “two things you have said that have really spoken to me is that 1) God is searching after me and 2) what I need is a total heart change.” He said he now has a satisfaction and a peace he has rarely ever experienced. He read all of the Matthew chapters I gave him and we discussed through them some. Then we prayed for his job interview that day.

Just yesterday he texted me to tell me his job interview went well and to ask what chapters I have for him to read before the next time we meet. I gave him Matt 1-4 and he said he would read them before we meet soon. This hardly ever, really never, happens.

PTL. Can’t make this stuff up. Thank you for praying.

It’s gonna happen.

I’m super tired right now. I’m finally getting to bed at a decent hour. But I realized I just have to give this quick update.

A year ago we asked for prayer for some meetings with a nationwide chain that buys olive wood. The meeting went well and a relationship began.

In January we asked for prayer that the same company would put in their first big order. They put in a substantial enough order that gave us confidence to buy a whole container.

A few weeks ago we asked for prayer that this company would send us their first actual purchase order for the olive wood we now have in stock. Well, they did. They put in three decent orders.

AND NOW, check this out. Of one the local owners gave us the contact to the HQ office that makes purchases for all 80 stores nationwide. Our team emailed the guy in charge of purchasing and we scored a meeting with his for this coming Friday.

This meeting could be HUGE. So what do we do? We work hard. We stay diligent in our work. AND we plead for prayer for yet another meeting to have favor from our Lord.

Thanks for sticking with us this whole way. We are all apart of this global effort. God is good.

It’s gonna happen!!

Answered olive wood prayers.

We are well aware of the fact that we don’t always find the time, bandwidth or discipline to complete everyone blog post that is left open ended.  For example, each story of what God is doing in the life of any one person is clearly a story in progress. We would love to help everyone stay updated on each story here, but it’s not realistic. Thanks for understanding and thanks for being patient with us.

However, I did want to update everyone on a unique prayer that has remained open ended until yesterday. Last December and January, you may recall, we were asking prayer for a potentially huge olive wood customer. That customer did give us a “pre-order” of what they would take. However it would require us taking a risk on buying another container full of such olive wood products. So, we took the risk. I’ve gone to Italy a couple times since then to discover and double check on such products. We asked for prayer. We purchased an entire container. The container has now landed in Lexington. And as of yesterday the prayers, you could say, have come to bear fruit in full. We received the real time order from one nationwide store and expect many more just like it from different stores of the same chain.

PTL. He is at work in our company like He is in the lives of millions of people all over the world. The pain of transformation is usually not enjoyable, but it produces good things. And in the midst of our personal and company transformation, God continues to answer prayers for sales as well.

Thank you for praying. There is much more work to be done. But the Lord continues to hear and answer.

It is happaneing. And each of you are to thank. PTL!

The heat is on HIGH!

So, here’s the current temperature update:

So, when the temperature rises above 100 degrees you don’t need to warm up before working out. I don’t really know what I’m saying. I’m trying to come up with creative word pictures to say that as the summer heat in August gets to be nearly unbearable, God doesn’t stop… so neither do we.

Here’s some of the latest spiritual things that have heated up:

– recently I’ve met with and delivered a book to a guy in a dangerous neighborhood who is a radiologist. He has great questions. Remains interested. And by the sounds of it he is studying on his own.

– another guy I just met this week is about my age. He is married with a 3 yr old girl and his wife is pregnant. He is essentially an independent pharmaceutical sales rep. He used to be a doctor but now sells to doctors. He is a huge reader. Knows a little about all the world religions. This guy was super stoked to get his first Book. Has only had a french copy up to this point. He is totally open to keep meeting and as I shared vison stuff with him about what God is doing, he mentioned how he has the chance to converse with many doctors who are open to discuss faith. It’s like he already has a pre-faith heart to share truth.

– tomorrow I’m meeting up again for the second time with a guy who is convinced he has spirits attacking him. (We have a whole prayer circle lifting up this guys, so don’t fret). But he has searched for 6 years how to get rid of these spirits and perhaps he is ready for the power of the Blood to heal him.

These are just three recent stories to demonstrate how the spiritual heat continues to burn hot here.

Monday I meet with a guy to discuss when he will get dunked.

It’s getting hot here and we ain’t talking heat index. When Aslan moves, He evidently brings the heat.

Thank you Lord!!

Five Year Ramblings

Today is a day of reflection! Five years ago, August 7th, we arrived in this new country for the first time. Max was ten months old, Ella was 5, Stevie and I were about 26. Or something like that.   🙂

I remember the airport when we waited in the customs line. It was hot, unfamiliar, and somewhat scary. We had no idea what the signs said or what the people were saying. Everything was foreign.

Our friends, Darrell and Cheryl, picked us up and we stayed at their house for one night. I remember waking up the next day and Ella had been awake for a while barfing. Cheryl had her on the couch and somehow little Ella was still happy and excited to see our new home (adventure ran deep in Ella’s veins even then).

They drove us to Bardo- our new home. Our house was pleasantly surprising! A perfect fit for us.

The next few weeks were filled with one adventure after another. Wait, what? Actually, the past five years have been that way.

Right now I am currently sitting in the same living room. Now our fingerprints are all throughout this place, my pictures have been hung and re-hung; the furniture arranged and re-arranged. Visitors have come and gone time and time again. We’ve spent numerous birthdays, Christmases, and summers here.  How in the heck has this place become some familiar?! It’s home now almost just as much as little old Wilmore.

So, today I’m kind of just amazed and a little freaked out and also rejoicing. He has walked me into a foreign place and watched me relax into this place and now we call it home. Wow!

Disclaimer- Don’t get me wrong- some days I still say, “thanks for this adventure, God, but I’d like to go back to Beavercreek now!”
